  • Overview

    Perform accurate and timely data entry processing for Accounts Payable.  Work closely with Billing on pass thru customer expense transactions.  Must have accounting experience and working knowledge of E1 and other desktop applications. Emphasis on operation of printers, copiers, facsimile, PC software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Internet directory, and AS 400 mainframe.

    Responsibilities

    • Keep abreast of current developments in the Sales and Use tax area and be an information source for Sales and Use tax within the company
    • Account Reconciliations related to Sales and Use Tax
    • Unclaimed Property Return Filings
    • Accurately process Accounts Payable data including account code information
    • Backup to Conduct weekly AP check runs including Checks, ACH, and Nonbankables
    • Analyze and Reconcile Accounts Payable accounts
    • Prepare reports and supporting documentation for AP audits
    • Knowledge source for billing on customer expense pass through
    • Maintain Wiki Accounts Payable process documentation
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Associate’s degree required preferably Finance or Accounting or two (2) years equivalent work experience
    • Solid understanding of accounts payable and sales & use tax procedures
    • Must possess strong organization skills, analytical skills, be detail oriented and a self starter
    • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with all audience levels in the organization
    • Ability to effectively work independently and within a team
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks under restricted time elements
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
    • Experience with JD Edwards software is a plus

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

     

    Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, scientific and technical journals and regulations, and legal documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

     

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages.

     

     

    REASONING ABILITY

     

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

     

    OTHER SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES

     

    Must possess logical thinking abilities and be comfortable working with various types of accounting data.  Ability to critically evaluate information/data through questioning, probing, and reasoning is required.  Incumbent must possess effective interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a team environment.

     

    Intermediate proficiency with spreadsheet and database software is required.
