Florida East Coast Railway, LLC. is seeking the right individual to fill the position of Manager, Retail and Automotive Logistics.  Retail customers are manufactures, distributors, or retailers that directly contract FEC door-to-door intermodal services to or from Florida, while Automotive customers are OEM’s and pre-owned vehicle manufacturers and distributors.  Existing FEC Retail customers include TJ Max, Publix, and Quaker Oats; while existing FEC Auto customers include Ford Motor Company, Honda, Fiat-Chrysler and Volkswagen.  The Manager will work directly with Retail Shippers and Automotive customers to diagnose and design best-in-class logistical services using the FEC Railway’s fast, safe and efficient railroad network within Florida.  The ideal candidate will have significant transportation experience with either a shipper or carrier; deep knowledge of the needs of retail and automotive customers, keen problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work with logistics personnel at every level.  Additional duties may be assigned.  


  • Providing support for Retail and Automotive clients by learning about and satisfying their logistical needs and service requirements of their customers
  • Identifying and following-up with prospective customers that may benefit from FEC’s suite of high quality transportation services and capabilities
  • Presenting and demonstrating a logistical plan and cost to prospective customers that meet their service and value requirements
  • Compiling and analyzing data to find trends.  Define and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for retail and automotive customers and internal FEC departments
  • Staying current on company offerings and industry trends in the fast growing retail and automotive market.
  • Maintaining a database of contact information
  • Building long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with external contacts and internal departments to create and maintain a superior customer experience
  • Completing negotiations and working with FEC departments to on-board new customers
  • Position is directly responsible for identifying and securing rail traffic from new and existing customers
  • Represent FEC on various levels to customers, government and trade association meetings
  • Travel as necessary, including overnight as required


  • Minimum 7 years of direct experience in logistics, transportation, or distribution fields. Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, economics, or a related field.  Additional education or experience may be preferred.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of logistics and supply chain trends and customer needs
  • The drive and energy to manage multiple retail and auto accounts while looking to develop new services for both existing and new clients
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team to develop and design service offerings for target customers based upon their logistical needs, timelines, and constraints
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle the negotiation process required to establish new services and carriers
  • Strong time management skills
  • Computer and analytical skills, especially MS Office, CRM software and dashboard applications
