Overview

Florida East Coast Railway, LLC. is seeking the right individual to fill the position of Account Executive , International Intermodal Logistics.  This position will work with ocean carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, importers, and exporters that provide or utilize international transportation services throughout Florida and the world.  Existing FEC ocean carrier customers include Crowley Maritime, Seaboard Marine, CMA/CGM, and Maersk.   This Logistics Consultant will help FEC to diagnose and design best-in-class logistical services using the FEC Railway’s fast, safe and efficient railroad network within Florida.  The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of international trade, creativity, keen problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work with logistics personnel at every level.  Additional duties may be assigned.  

Responsibilities

  • Compiling and analyzing trade and transportation data to identify trends and logistical requirements of international cargos moving to and from Florida Ports. 
  • Providing support to existing and prospective international intermodal customers by learning about their logistical needs, constraints, service goals, and costs
  • Presenting and demonstrating a logistical plan and cost to prospective ocean carriers, customs brokers, and importers / exporters that meet their service and value requirements
  • Staying current on company offerings and industry trends in the fast growing international market.
  • Position is directly responsible for identifying and securing rail traffic from new and existing customers
  • Represent FEC on various levels to customers, government and trade association meetings
  • Maintaining a database of contact information
  • Travel as necessary, including overnight as required

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years + professional work experience in international logistics, ocean carriage, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or NVOCC
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of logistics and supply chain trends
  • The drive and energy to manage multiple projects while looking to develop new services for both existing and new clients
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team to develop and design service offerings for target international customers based upon their logistical needs, timelines, and constraints
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Computer and analytical skills, especially MS Office, CRM software and dashboard applications
