Overview

The Jr. Telecomm Network Engineer provides IT support to North Florida’s operations within Florida East Coast Railway, this position provides local support installing and configuring network enterprise equipment

Responsibilities

• Technical Telecomm Engineer configure and install mainly CISCO equipment (Firewalls, CUCM, Access Points, Switches and Routers)
• Technicians resolve issues related to the network (LAN, WAN and MAN).
• Resolve issues related to the VOIP, Wireless and Security
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network’s issues
• Should possess the ability to learn and work on changing and emerging telecommunications technologies.
• Prepare accurate telecom reports and metrics.
• Document technical knowledge in the knowledge database.
• Monitor daily performance of technical systems.
• Configure and install perimeter security equipment (hw and sw), such as firewalls, IPS, Proxy, F5, etc and knowledge about CISCO umbrella console

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Telecomm science, software engineering, information technology or another related discipline is required

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Cisco experience CCNA desired
• LAN/WAN/MAN experience

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• Comfort with Cisco and other networking equipment
• Common networking concepts and protocols required
• Work with users, and meet in groups to brainstorm, develop and implement technological solutions

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Onsite in Jacksonville, FL. M-F. No remote option.

• 35% travel required
• Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard workweek)
