The Bridge Manager is responsible for the inspection of bridges, culverts, and supervises the construction, maintenance, repairs and/or renewal of bridges, culverts to ensure compliance with FEC, AREMA, and Industry Bridge Standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Work hours may vary in length and schedule.
• Combination of office and field work in varying weather and environmental conditions.
• Successful completion of a background check, physical, and drug screen prior to start date.
• Respond to unexpected or emergency situations.
• Lift up to 50lbs.
• Up to 40% travel requiring overnight stay required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Valid driver’s license
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous work experience in the rail industry.
• 3 years’ experience in railroad bridge maintenance/construction or other related formal training.
• Qualified FRA Title 49, Track Safety Standards Part 213, and Railroad Workplace Safety and Bridge Worker Safety Part 214.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) from four year college or university in engineering, construction, or related field of study.
• 5+ years’ experience in railroad bridge maintenance/construction supervision or other related formal training.
• Prior experience and knowledge repairing, maintaining, and rehabilitating moveable railroad bridges.

• Knowledge of railroad construction materials.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and maintenance activities simultaneously

• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and specifications.
• Experience in providing quality control oversight for new bridge construction and field verification of construction in conformance with project plans/specifications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Understand and apply safety standards, policies, and procedures
• Knowledge of rail operations and physical characteristics
• Must be able to collaborate with others to accomplish organizational goals, identify and resolve problems.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
