Overview

Compiles employees' time and production records by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

  • RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Reviews time sheets, work charts, and time cards for completeness
    • Computes total time worked by employees, posts time worked to master time sheet, and routes time sheet to payroll department
    • Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
    • Resolves payroll discrepancies in the Paperless Time Ticket system
    • Researches train service penalty time claims for accuracy and validity
    • Maintains records on qualifications of train service employees
    • Computes vacation and sick pay allowances
    • Develops train service employees annual vacation schedule
    • Review expense account forms for train service employees
    • Processes payroll for various departments
    • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by department leader

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 or more years of experience required in payroll
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel

 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting
  • JD Edwards (Enterprise One) experience
  • Railroad industry experience

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 10% travel may be required
  • Ability to work overtime, nights and/or weekends as needed
  • Valid driver’s license
  • The applicant selected for this position will be required to successfully complete a background check and drug test

Passing results must be received prior to start date in new position
