Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports the end-to-end recruitment process for Florida East Coast Railway, working closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager to attract, identify, and hire top talent. This role is also responsible for maintaining recruitment records, coordinating interviews, and handling a variety of administrative tasks that ensure a seamless candidate and hiring manager experience. Must ensure current employees are satisfied in their positions and promote the company’s brand through recruitment initiatives and events.  The role contributes to growth of talent within FEC and its subsidiaries through sourcing and nurturing the most suitable applicant to contribute to the company’s future success.  The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring FEC is hiring the best possible talent.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Manager to execute full-cycle recruiting for various roles across the organization.
  • Post job openings on internal and external job boards, ensuring accurate and appealing descriptions.
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate outreach to evaluate qualifications and interest.
  • Schedule interviews, coordinate with hiring managers, and ensure timely communication with candidates throughout the process.
  • Maintain and update applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment databases.
  • Support onboarding processes, including preparing offer letters, initiating background checks, and collecting new hire documentation.
  • Assist with recruitment reporting and metrics tracking for leadership and compliance purposes.
  • Collaborate on employer branding initiatives and recruitment marketing efforts.
  • Participate in career fairs, networking events, and other recruitment outreach activities as needed.
  • Perform general administrative support related to recruitment, including invoice processing, maintaining templates, and tracking requisitions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Talent Acquisition Manager

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 1–3 years of experience in recruiting, HR, or an administrative support role (HR experience is a plus).

  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and basic HR processes.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proactive, collaborative, and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices

 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • PHR Certification
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards E1
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to travel for recruitment meetings, college visits, and career fairs and maintain a flexible work schedule
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative in dealing with daily assumptions

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 5% travel required
  • The applicant selected for this position will be required to successfully complete a background check and drug test
  • Passing results must be received prior to start date in new position
  • This position is 100% onsite M-F. No remote or hybrid options.
