Overview
This position will serve as a relief for the Bridge Monitor position.
Responsibilities
Communicates with the marine industry and boating public by way of usual and customary communication methods utilized by the industry.
Communicates with FEC System Operations/Dispatchers/FDC
Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred
Watches for and reports irregularities, such as fire hazards, mechanical and bridge failures, and security doors left un-locked.
Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department and company authorities as well as train dispatcher by telephone and/or ra-dio in case of fire or pres¬ence of unauthorized persons.
Records data such as train movements, bridge openings and closures, prop¬erty damage, and / or unusual occurrences as required by the United States Coast Guard Regulation.
